Concert for the IRIS’ association by “La maîtrise des hauts de Seine”
The children’s choir of the National Opera of Paris sings with the famous opera singer “Philippe Jaroussky”, who is the sponsor of the association IRIS. This contributes to give apartements to the parents near the hospital where their children are cured. Indeed, some people can’t find accomodation in Paris and so they can’t support their children during their treatment. For that, “La Maîtrise” decided to organize a charity concert once a year, to give money to this association. They use to sing “Dido and Aeneas” by Purcell. Teenagers from 16 to 25, in the “Choeur de Chambre” sing it with of course the participation of Mr. Jaroussky.
I saw this concert last year because one of my closest friend was part of the choir. It was in a church in Paris. Everyone was very solemn and silence came faster than I thought. There was not any setting, only the singers were in their costumes, which were very original by the material and the colour chosen. When I came, there were also singers who were almost 10, there were adorable and so professional ! I was very impressed by the perfect command of their voice and of all the notes.
I advise everyone to go and see (or hear, above all) this charity concert, and give donations to IRIS’ association ! To know when the next concert is check for posters in schools, or conservatoire of music.
